Synopsis
This beloved tale of Jack and the Beanstalk is set in ancient Ireland, as dreadful giant terrorizes the countryside. When the lazy, boastful Jack learns that his late father may have been a king, he is determined to climb the beanstalk and rescue his family’s stolen treasure. Aided by Eileen O’Fenian, a bungling fairy trying to earn her wings, Jack has a hair-raising adventure in the giant’s castle, with a temperamental giant, his ogre-ish wife, her henchmen Oogedy, Boogedy, and Boo—as well as the singing harp and a dancing, golden egg-laying hen. Finally, Jack returns home to be crowned king, and Eileen earns her wings. With a rollicking, Riverdance score, this show is a delight for all ages.
